Real golf 2011 is optimized for the iphone 4 and has features that remind you of the whole ps2 game, just the graphics are retina display supported so you can imagine. The load speed of the game is really fast so you know the coding is done well and doesn’t hog your memory to much, you can still run like 20 other apps at the same time without any loss of speed.
Game play is very fluid as you find all the controls are very easy to use but at the same time will support a challenge for the advanced player, what I like a lot is that the game has incorporated a real nice interface by supporting the gyro controls for iphone 4 accelerometer. On the right you have a top view of the greens and showing you where the hole is with wind speed and direction to compensate. There you will also see that the right control offers the choice to pick the side slide bar in which you will swing “accurately”. On the left you can change you gold club according to which shot you would like to attempt. However I find they pick the right gold club for you so not much need to change it.
Once again I can point out the depth of your graphics in this game are well mapped, and the controls offer erconomics in a need way for developers to match up to. In the near future im sure we will see many updates with all the latest support for capabilities as this game is at the top of any other golf game. To swing your golf club all you have to do is slide the translucent ball down to the blue line and back up again in a “straight line” or you will fade your ball into the rough or shank it, so the challenge lies here for driving your ball really far.
Once you one the green it’s a whole new ball game, if you have ever played other golf ps2 or ps3 games you will find that the green will show a grid with beads running up, down, left or right and in different colours resembling different speeds having red the fastest speed meaning that the green is really fast. On the right you can see that there is a man crouched down reading the green in blue, this will help you read the green better and have a more accurate putt.
Once again you will see that you have an option of how hard you swing your club with the side slide bar, the blue line will advise you how much to swing and going over the blue line will end up having you a great deal of a hockey game swinging to and from the edge of the green sides.
Final impressions and conclusions: real gold 2011 is a huge improvement to last years game real golf 2010, as the iphone 4 is optimized for retina display and can handle such a high quality game having the A1 processor.However this is not a world where people stay happy for long and want need features, for example I think a better way to deal with the games controls would be to use the GPS integrated with accelerometer controls so you can play in real time in real places, this would boost popularity in a huge way.
